Moscosi Bridge

Year: 2017 - Location: Cingoli, Italy

Seismic assessment and strengthening of the bridge connecting the provincial road 26 with the hamlet Moscosi in the municipality of Cingoli through substitution of seismic bearings, pier and deck strengthening and road barrier replacement.

The bridge consists of 14 spans resting on 13 piles in c.a. with full circular section with variable height. Due to the earthquake of 24/08/2016 that affected the central Italy and the consequent earthquake swarm, the work was closed due to the important crack pattern found. Studio Calvi has realized the project of safety and seismic adaptation of the work and is responsible for the construction supervision of the structural works.

The adaptation project includes interventions for the consolidation of the shoulders, of the piers and of the deck, the replacement of the support devices with sliding isolation devices with curved surfaces and the restoring of the roadside barrier on the bridge.
