Consulting services for peer review of seismic retrofitting design of Israeli Hospitals.
The required service is professional review for the improvement of existent hospital building seismic design. The strengthening solution is focused on RC jacketing of the existing columns; application of carbon FRP composites in order to increase confinement and ductility capacity of structural elements; application of steel plates at edges and corners to increase confinement of the concrete; enlargement or insertion of expansion joints; addition of fluid viscous dampers to remove weak story phenomena; new RC walls to reduce the torsional problems and redistribute better the inertia forces.
